Have you ever wanted to pay your parents back for all that they’ve done for you? That’s just what YouTube star Timothy DeLaGhetto has managed to do.
Timothy (whose real name is Timothy Chantarangsu) reportedly earns $1 million a year through his YouTube videos, and he decided to put together enough money to help his parents become mortgage-free.
Timothy is a rapper and comedian with a massive fan following on YouTube totalling well over 2.5 million subscribers. His parents are Thai immigrants who moved to LA and started a Thai restaurant.
Like many immigrants, they wanted their son to go to university and become a doctor or an engineer, but Timothy chose to follow a very different life path by making videos on YouTube and showcasing his comedic skills.
Timothy always had one particular goal in mind. “Ever since I was a little kid, I made a promise to my dad and my mom,” he says at the beginning of his video. “I promise you, I’m going to pay off the house, and finally, this is the day I got my funds right, and I’m going to surprise them with the check.”
In the video below, Timothy presents his parents with a check for $340,000, enough to pay his parents mortgage ($210,000) and the remaining bonus for being awesome parents. It’s incredibly heartwarming to watch Timothy’s parents react to his gift.
